The US Army said Wednesday it has raised its maximum enlistment age from 35 to 40 years old and is doubling signing up bonuses to a high of 40,000 dollars.

There are several ways to fill the ranks - patriotism (getting harder), fear (still pretty good, but not good enough), the draft (only if another GOP term) and cold hard deficit-induced cash. Who will take it? Well, not anyone who can get it somewhere else.
